Orlando Pirates striker Siphelele Mthembu has been handed a R30 000 fine by the Premier Soccer League (PSL) on Tuesday after being found guilty of signing two contracts with different clubs.
The former Maritzburg City striker signed contracts with both Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.
After sitting for almost two months, the PSL's Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) reached its decision and fined the player R30 000, which has been suspended for 12 months and he is also expected to pay all legal costs.
Convenor of the DRC, Zola Majavu, who handed down the verdict, confirmed the following:
The contract between Orlando Pirates and Siphelele Mthembu is valid.
The registration of Mthembu as a player for Orlando Pirates is proper. There is no order as to costs.
