Kampala — ZAIN has donated non-food items worth millions of shillings to SILUA Foundation Complex (SIFCO), a charity organisation, to help needy children in Rakai.

The charity supports poor and deprived people. "This is a spontaneous initiative on the part of our staff members in giving back to people during this festive season.

"The donation is targeting orphaned children and the poor," Yesse Oenga, the Zain managing director, said. The items included clothes, shoes, bags, sandals and bed sheets.

Sylivernus Nuwamanya, the chief executive director of the Kyotera-based organisation, said the organisation strives to build and strengthen capacities of marginalised and vulnerable rural individuals and groups.

The charity promotes their social and economic welfare.
