Botswana: Kgabosetso Coach Demands Commitment

Following the loss against Masitaoka last weekend, Kgabosetso Southern Callies coach, Botshelo 'Obsever' Pelokgosi has demanded total commitment from everybody at the club.

He said the club must overhaul its act to realise its ambition of qualifying for the Premier League. The coach demanded that everybody at the club must pull up their shocks because the loss to Masitaoka could have been avoided if the management acted swiftly to arrange a training camp for players before the game.

"The players ended up camping at home because there were no meals for them and no one took care of the situation in my absence. I had gone to attend a family matter and the team manager was supposed to have arranged everything. I told management after the loss that I did not blame the players. I said this in front of the players because I felt they were let down by management," the outspoken former Mogoditshane Fighters' player said.

"This game was very important to me and I had prepared well the whole week and all the effort went to waste because the training camp was not arranged for the players.

Masitaoka are below us in terms of play and we should have not lost to them. My players were not concentrating," he added.

Pelokgosi asserted that another reason his team put up a poor performance against the Molepolole side was that one of his players is being wooed by Fighters. "I went to see Letang Kgengwenyane (Fighters' coach) yesterday about this and he denied any knowledge but I have since established who was behind this whole thing and he has apologised for approaching my players behind the scenes," he said.

Kgabosetso have had a mixed start to the season registering three wins, three losses and two draws, which left them at sixth place with 12 points. "I know I can turn things around. I just hope things would not turn bad as the season progresses. Right now there might be excitement that the coach is back, but soon I could be facing a different scenario and things would be difficult. I am just appealing to everybody at the team to pull together. We should all learn from the loss against Masitaoka that everything should be done right. I have told my players that maybe it was a blessing in disguise that we lost such an easy game because it makes us realise that we need not rest on our laurels," he said.
