Angola: FAA Highlight Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces Cooperation

3 December 2008

Luanda — The collaboration demonstrated by Cuba's Revolutionary Armed Forces (FARC) for re-organisation and the strengthening of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), was highlighted Tuesday in Luanda.

This recognition was expressed by chief of FAA's General Staff, general Francisco Pereira Furtado, during a ceremony that marked the 52nd anniversary of FARC foundation, held at official residence of the Cuban ambassador to Angola.

According to the general, "it is too remarkable and notorious the organisational level and the capacity shown by the Angolan Armed Forces in several branches, in which a solid cooperation is developed".

Francisco Furtado paid homage to all Cuban internationalists killed for the cause of the Angolan independence and of other countries based in the region.

Among those attending the ceremony were government officials, politicians, MPs, military attaches from various countries accredited to Angola and journalists.
