Kampala — A MEMBER of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) has attacked Tanzanian President, Jakaya Kikwete, for failing to interact with the assembly.
"By now, the President of Tanzania would have had time to meet EALA members. MPs would like to interact with heads of partner states.
"We have been in Tanzania for two years but we have never had the opportunity to meet that head of state," said Clarkson Otieno Karani.
Karani commended the President of Kenya, Mwai Kibaki, of Rwanda, Paul Kagame and President Yoweri Museveni for meeting EALA members.
He was debating the public accounts committee report of the East African Community.
The MPs are in Uganda for two weeks. They will travel to Kiruhura district next week to meet the President.
