Namibia: Two Fatal Stabbings in Windhoek

A YOUNG man died in Windhoek on Saturday night after he was stabbed in the chest, the Police reported yesterday.

Police spokesperson Willem Theophilus said the incident happened at about 22h00 in Ongava Street near the Okuryangava Clinic.

Theophilus said that the suspect and the victim were believed to be friends and were drinking together before the incident.

The suspect has not yet been arrested.

A 17-year-old boy died of stab wounds to the chest at the GM Entertainment Centre in Dolam, Katutura, on Saturday night.

Police said the incident happened at 02h00.

Theophilus said no arrest has been made yet.

On Friday morning, the body of a man was found on the first floor of the Windhoek Central Hospital.

The Police said the man disappeared from a hospital ward on November 19 after being transferred there from the Oshakati State Hospital.

A 20-year-old woman was robbed of a laptop computer valued at N$5 500, N$952 in cash and a cash box containing N$200 on Saturday.

Theophilus said the robbery took place at 14h00 at Unit 26 of the Industrial Park in Newcastle Street.

No arrest has been made.
