A SOUTH African television presenter whose visit to Namibia was turned into a bureaucratic nightmare when immigration officials arrested her at Hosea Kutako International Airport on Friday last week was allowed to leave the country yesterday.

Bonita Nuttall, who is a presenter with an investigative journalism show 'Carte Blanche' in South Africa, will have to return to Namibia next year, though, after the case in which she is charged with breaking Namibia's Immigration Control Act was postponed yesterday for further investigations to be done.

Nuttall was about to board a flight to South Africa on Friday last week when immigration officials detained her for allegedly having worked in Namibia without the necessary work permit.

Nuttall was kept in custody at the Hosea Kutako International Airport Police Station until Saturday, when she was released after posting security of N$2 000 with the immigration authorities.

With her second appearance in the Windhoek Magistrate's Court in Katutura yesterday, Public Prosecutor O.J.

Lino asked Magistrate Shahieda Krohne to postpone the case to February 4 and to grant Nuttall bail of N$8 000 in the meantime.
