Asmara — President Isaias Afwerki returned home today after attending the UN Conference on Financing for Development that was held in Doha, Qatar, from November 29 to December 2.
The conference in which about 40 Heads of State and representatives of 145 countries and international organizations participated focused on restructuring the world financial system, the prevailing global economic crisis and related issues.
Alongside the conference, President Isaias held talks with the Emir of Qatar, Sheik Hamed Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, on enhancing bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern to both countries, as well as the overall situation at the global level.
