ABOUT 500,000 youths are to receive N150,000 loan each under the Anambra State government aggressive micro- credit scheme in the next one month, the state governor, Mr. Peter Obi has said.
The governor who spoke at the 3rd Anambra development summit 2008 held at the women development centre, Awka said the loan would make the youths to be self-employed as well as check the incidence of kidnapping in the state.
He said the development of the state was not the sole responsibility of the state government but the onus of every citizen of the state and called on the people of the state to join hands with government to develop the state.
Similarly, the League of Anambra state professionals (LAP ) has rolled out a private sector development program tagged vision 2030 aimed at making Anambra State the second biggest economy in Nigeria.
President of the organization, Dr. Ndi Onuekwusi said the vision would be actualized through a company, AMBRA Investicorp Trust Ltd , saying that N10bn was required for the phase 1 of the project.
