Kampala — BOYZ II MEN, the four time Grammy Award-winning American R&B vocal group, have cancelled their show scheduled for tomorrow at the Lugogo Cricket Oval grounds in Kampala.

The organisers said a group member, Shawn Stockman, had fallen sick.

"The other group members (Wanya and Nathan Morris) cannot travel without him (Stockman)," a disheartened Hemdee Kiwanuka of No End Entertainment said at an impromptu media briefing on Wednesday night.

The trio was slated to perform with other internationally-acclaimed artistes who are R&B sensation Joe Thomas, Jamaican dancehall stars Tanto Metro & Devonte and Tanya Stephens. They arrived in the country on Tuesday.

Hemdee, however, stressed that the show would still take place despite the occurrence.

"Not everyone who is coming to the show is a fan of Boyz II Men. There are fans of Joe, Tanya Stephens, and others want to see Tanto Metro and Devonte. So, Ugandans should still expect one fine Saturday evening," Hemdee said.

Joe, Tanya Stephens and Tanto Metro & Devonte flew to Tanzania aboard Air Uganda on Wednesday.

The crew will perform at Leaders Ground in Dar es Salaam tonight before flying back to Uganda for the concert.

"This (Stockman's bad health) has not only affected Uganda, but also Tanzania where they had also been booked to perform today," Hemdee said.

The Boyz II Men's website, www.boyzIImen.com, indicated that the trio had been scheduled to perform in Dar es Salaam and Kampala on December 5 and 6 respectively.

Hemdee said they had been paid the full amount upfront. "They will not refund the money but promised to give us a show at a later date," he said.

Following the disappointment by Boyz II Men, Hemdee said, there would be a 20% discount on tickets to the show.

Joe Thomas is popular for songs like I wanna know, Love Scene, All That I am, Good Girls and No One else Comes Close.

Tanto Metro & Devonte are known for Everyone Falls in Love and I got News for You, while Tanya Stephen's has performed Pull up and Yuh Nuh Ready fi Dis Yet.
