Nigeria: Vitafoam Donates Foams to Distressed Women, Children

Distressed women and children in the society have been given additional shoulder to lean on as the Women and Children Development-Refuge and Fortress, Ogba, Lagos recently received foams and other household materials from foam manufacturer, Vitafoam.The presentation which was part of events preceding the launching of the newly built multi purpose centre took place at the venue and was witnessed by the executive members and Board of Trustees of the NGO as well as representatives of management from Vitafoam Plc led by the Employees Relations Manager, Mr. Yemi Adegbola.

The Chairman, Board of Trustees, Refuge and Fortress, Mr. Fola Aguda, thanked Vitafoam for her kind gesture, saying that the company has shown once again that it cares for the distressed. He said that Refuge and Fortress is an organisation formed to motivate people to perform beyond their expectations and that the organisation will even be more encouraged by the gesture from Vitafoam.

In his words "we are very happy with what Vitafoam is doing today, and I want to recall that when I was young, I used to sleep on Vitafoam mattress and still do even now that I am old."

Making the donations on behalf of Vitafoam, Mr. Adegbola reiterated the company's desire to give comfort and vitality not only to those who are stable minded but also to the distressed and troubled in the society. He assured that Vitafoam would continue to give succor to the center and also to monitor the progress of the inmates.

Mrs Adebola Jaiye-Ojo, the President of the centre declared that Refuge and Fortress is a home for the abused and traumatized women. She recounted a story of a woman and her child, who were rescued by the centre recently from the streets of Lagos and presently recuperating at Yaba.

She confirmed that Vitafoam was the first company to show interest in the organization through this donation and according to her, she hoped such gesture from Vitafoam will not be the last. "As partners ensuring comfort in people's lives, we hope to see you again", she said.

After the presentation the guests were taken on a tour of the facilities on ground at the centre. These include a multi-purpose hall for the mothers and their children, a counseling office, a gym, offices for resident doctors and social workers, among others.
