Nigeria: Peacock Travels Open Shop in Port Harcourt

Peacock Travels, Nigeria leading travel management firm, has opened a travel centre in Port Harcourt in a strategic move to bring its services closer to ii teeming customers in the Easter and Niger Delta regions of the country.

The new ultramodern outlet serves regular as well as high-end travelers, especially in the oil and gas sector, which has a significant expatriate community and dominates business in this Garden City

Peacock Travels, which is headquartered in Lagos, already has travel centres in Abuja and Ibadan and a protocol arm at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

Chiefs P. Phillips, Peacock Travels' executive chairman, said: "we have always wanted to bring our services to the door steps of our valued customers. Port Harcourt was the natural choice, given its high strategic and commercial value in the Nigerian economy

But patronage from that part of the country was also impressive, and we decided we needed to bring our services within their reach

Describing the PH outlet as the one-stop travel centre, Chief Phillip explained that with Peacock fully e-ticket compliant, with access to e-tickets of all compliant airlines in Nigeria customers should expect nothing but the very best of services from us.

Phillips added that the Port Harcourt Travel Centre, which has since begun operations, would maintain Peacock's traditional efficiency, courtesy and professionalism in service delivery.

Meanwhile, the Institute of Direct Marketing of Nigeria has declared Peacock Travel and Tours the West Africa's World Class Technology-Driven Travel Managers of the Year 2008.

The Institute made the declaration during a colourful award ceremony it organised in Lagos on Saturday in collaboration with the Confederation of African Direct Marketing Association (CADMA).

The Institute said Peacock was chosen as winner after a painstaking and thorough research by the technical committee set up by both the institute and CADMA.

The award was presented to the Executive Chairman of the travel and tour company, Chief Segun Phillips, by the President of the Institute, Chief Mrs Pricilla Kuye.

Shortly after receiving the award, Phillips told journalists that the award was as a result of the commitment of the management and staff of the company to embracing world's latest technology in providing world-class travel services.

"The recognition of our effort through this award will spur us to much more greater heights, not only in the use of technology but in all other aspects of our services", he said.

Incorporated in 1997, Peacock Travel and Tours, has since garnered numerous awards and recognition.
