Makurdi — The Nigeria Premier League (NPL) has postponed all its matches as a result of the Sallah break scheduled for Monday and Tuesday to enable Muslims and others, particularly footballers to have a good time during the festive period
Bayelsa United of Yenagoa is topping the Globacom Premier League table with 24 points with Warri Wolves and Heartland of Owerri placing second and third respectively.
Bayelsa United with the same 24 points as the two others is however leading on goals difference.
The Sharks Football Club of P/Harcourt is 4th on the table with 23 points while Kaduna United is 5th with 22 points and JUTH Football Club of Jos is last on the league table having only points, followed by Nasarawa United and the Abuja team who have 11 points each.
Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi, according the Assistant Manager of the club, Mr. Dominic Iorfa, is currently having 15 points, boasting that there is still hope for the continental ticket for his boys.
He maintained that the team only needs time to blend its new players with their older colleagues for maximum results, stressing that in the week 14 features coming up next week, his team, currently nursing high hope, would beat the visiting Niger Tornados at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi, disclosing that JUTH Football Club of Jos would trade tackle with FC Abuja in Jos while Sunshine Football Club takes on Kaduna United in Akure.
Gateway Football Club of Abeokuta will be away to Heartland in Owerri while Gombe United will play host to Zamfara United. Other features include Enyimba playing at home with Warri Wolves while Rangers Football Club will tackle their visiting Kano Pillars.
