Boss of the label, Nobel Afrik, Prince Akanni Oyefusi has been inaugurated as the new president of the Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria (FADAN). The royal prince from Ikorodu succeeds Mrs Patricia Agbakwu of Patsie Creations to become the 4th president and the only male since the association was formed in 1989. The elaborate ceremony which is the first of its kind for any president elect, took place last Wednesday at the palatial, Ikoyi home of Princess Abbah Folawiyo, matron of the association.

The newly inaugurated president who described the new executive as a "new dawn", spoke to Vanguard shortly after the ceremony. Here, the graduate of Yaba College of Technology and CEO/ Head designer at Nobel Afrik Fashion School in Lagos, shares his plans and programmes on how to move the 19 year old association forward.
