Kampala — UGANDA topped Group A of the Africa Military Football Championship with four points yesterday after a goalless draw with Kenya.

Uganda who beat Guinea 3-1 last Monday edged Kenya on goal difference. Kenya edged Guinea 3-2 Friday.

Group A was reduced to three teams after Gabon failed to make it.

Group A leaders Uganda takes on either Algeria or Gambia in the semi-finals on Thursday while Kenya date Group B winners and defending champions Cameroon.

In the other game yesterday, South Africa opened Group B by holding Gambia to a draw.

The South Africans looked comfortable ahead at 2-1 before Darboe Landing levelled with an 87th minute scorcher.

Ngesman Mpumelelo and Melato Mosotho had put South Africa up before Sawaneh Landing reduced the deficit for Gambia.

The final is on Saturday at Namboole.
