The publisher had on his October edition ran the story with the headline, "Squandermania: How Isoko South N400m was spent in 3 months", but, the story ignited the anger of the council boss, who lodged a complaint with the police.

Vanguard gathered the detectives ambushed the publisher at his country home, Igbide in Delta State when he came from his base in Bayelsa to attend a social function and whisked him to Asaba from the Oleh Police Station, Oleh after spending close to 12 hours in detention.

Before he was picked up by the four-man police team, the publisher, who anticipated the plans of the council boss raised alarm that his life was under threat and that arrangements had been concluded to arrest him, but, that did not stop his arrest weeks after.

As at the time of filing this report, it was learnt that he has been granted bail by the police while investigation into the allegation against him by the chairman continues.
