THE ZAMTEL board has appointed Mukela Muyunda as the company's managing director.
Board chairperson, Eston Muyobo said in a statement in Lusaka yesterday that Mr Muyunda, who was acting managing director, had been appointed with immediate effect.
Mr Muyobo said the appointment follows interviews conducted by the board on October 16 this year.
"Following successful interviews conducted on October 16, 2008 for the position of managing director, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Mukela Muyunda as managing director of ZAMTEL effective December 9, 2008," Mr Muyobo said.
He said the board was hopeful that the appointment of Mr Muyunda would help steer the organisation to greater heights.
He wished Mr Muyunda success in his new appointment.
