Somalia: Explosion Targets Ethiopian Base in Ethiopia

Mogadishu — Heavy explosion have targeted an Ethiopian police station in Wardhere town, eastern Ethiopia witnesses said on Wednesday.

Locals say the blast was heavy and smoke from the station could be seen.

It is unclear who is responsible for the attack and it comes as fighting between Ethiopian troops and ONLF rebles has renewed in the region.

The exact casualties could not be confirmed but residents say there were casualties from the blast.

It is the first explosion that occurs in Ethiopian since the Ethiopian troops entered Somalia.

Earlier on Monday at least ten people have been killed and dozens injured after Ethiopian troops and ONLF rebles fought in Dannod town near Wardher in Ethiopia.
