Nigeria: Kano Condoles With Zamfara Over Death of Pilgrims

Kano State Government delegation to Hajj has condoled with the government and people of Zamfara on the death of nine pilgrims from the state in the Holy Land.The leader of the delegation, Alhaji AbdulAziz Garba delivered the condolence message to the Deputy Governor of Zamfara Alhaji Muntari Anka on Wednesday at the Zamfara pilgrims' tent at Mina, near Mecca.

Garba, who is also the Speaker of the Kano State House Assembly, described the death of the pilgrims as a great loss to the state and the country and prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased.

He also prayed to Allah to grant the families of the deceased as well as their fellow pilgrims the fortitude to bear the sad loss.

Responding, Anka said he was touched by the visit, and prayed Allah to reward the Kano delegation abundantly.

The pilgrims died in a motor accident, while travelling from Madina to Mecca in furtherance of the Hajj as 19 others sustained injuries.
