Luanda — Angolan Foreign minister, Assunção dos Anjos, Thursday in Luanda, received from the director of the World Economic Forum on Africa, Kathrine Tweedie, an invitation for the authorities to attend the next meeting of the organisation, set for January 2009 in Switzerland.
According to Kathrine Tweedie, who released the information at the end of an audience with minister Assunção dos Anjos, "it is very important that the country speaks of its successful history to the rest of the world".
Kathrine Tweedie stated that she has come to Angola with the purpose of encouraging not only the Government, but also important economic institutions like Sonangol and Endiama to participate at the said meeting, which will take place in Davos, Switzerland.
According to WEF's official, during the 2009 edition, various issues will be discussed, with stress to the world economic crisis and Africa as a generator of investment opportunities.
The World Economic Forum meeting is an annual event involving the managements of the world's wealthiest companies, politicians, leaders (president, prime ministers and other officials), intellectuals and journalists.
The WEF's official for Africa, who is in the country since Wednesday, is expected to leave on Saturday.
