Nigeria: 'Our Business Promotes African Culture'

THE managing director of Homes & Fabrics Limited, an interior decor and furniture manufacturing outfit, Mrs. Abby Ikomi have said that the main concept of her business outfit is to promote African culture, adding that the younger generation of Africans are now appreciating their culture.

She said this at the opening of her company's showroom on the fourth floor of the famous Mega Plaza, Idowu Martins, Lagos recently.

"The main concept is to promote Africa and our culture. What we're selling is furniture but almost representing art. When you buy one it's like you're buying a collectors item. And I design most of them myself", she said.

On acceptance of African culture by Africans, Ikomi said: "You will be surprised that the generation that we have now, from 25 and up, are beginning to appreciate Africa and what we have here. The views are changing and the people are supporting African products".
