Governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State yesterday in Sokoto launched the monthly sanitation reintroduced on Dec 7. Speaking at the ceremony Wamakko directed that the last Saturday of every month would from now on be observed as a sanitation day across the 23 Local government areas of the state.
This he said, was to restore the lost glory of Sokoto City as one of the cleanest cities in the country. Wamakko said: "Cleanliness is next to Godliness and we should avoid filthy environment always."
