Sierra Leone: Daddy Saj Now 'Diamond Saj'

15 December 2008

Freetown — One of Sierra Leone's most influential artists Joseph Cole aka Daddy Saj has officially changed his name to "Diamond Saj."

Daddy Saj was one of the few musicians who came out public in 2003 in his song "Corruption E Do So," to criticize unscrupulous politicians in the country.

Since his major hit "Corruption E Do So" singled out the selfishness and greed that were thriving throughout Sierra Leone and Africa as a whole, it was then that the citizens of Sierra Leone became aware and more vocal about the situation infringing on their human rights.

"There is still much more to come from Diamond Saj, my passion for music has never stopped. And for those who don't know, I am presently in the studio collaborating with several famous US celebrities in New York and Washington DC, on my 6th album which should be out no later than 2009.

"To all my fans, you mean so much to me, I love you from the bottom of my heart, and I hope to see you very soon; I love you and God bless," stated the recently re-branded Diamond Saj.
