Uganda: Court Acquits Australian National

Kampala — This story originally reported false information. The corrected story follows below:

Tony Lenart, the chairman of the Institute of Advanced Leadership, has been acquitted of charges of forging a certificate of incorporation, a degree certificate and uttering false documents.

Buganda Road Court Chief Magistrate Margaret Tibulya last week acquitted Lenart, saying there was no evidence to prove the allegations.

“I have found no evidence on those charges against the accused, I therefore acquit him” Tibulya ruled.

Tibulya ruled that prosecution failed to adduce enough evidence to prove that Lenart was the one who forged and uttered those documents.

The prosecution had accused Lenart of having committed the offences between 2006 and 2007 in Kampala, while operating the Institute of Advanced Leadership in Nsambya, a Kampala suburb.
