Nigeria: Fepsga - Govt Throws Weight Behind Event

Abuja — Supervisory Minister of Sports and Chairman National Sports Commission (NSC), Alhaji Al-Hassan Bako Zaku has reiterated federal government's commitment to the development of sports by assuring that government will continue to support and encourage the Federation of Public Service Games, (FEPSGA) activities.Alhassan Bako Zaku said this while declaring the 2008 Public Service Games currently holding in Abuja open on Monday, reiterating that any sporting event that would engage Nigerian youths and the civil servants would be supported and encouraged.Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Amal Pepple expressed happiness that the 2008 edition of the Public Service Games has finally taken-off after series of disappointments by State governments who withdrew from hosting the Games. The Games which kicked-off December 11 will end on the 20th.
