Segeneiti — The Halai Micro-dam in Segeneiti sub-zone has been expanded by over double-fold as a result of the ongoing renovation and expansion activities. It is expected to make due contribution in irrigating the nearby extensive farmlands.
The dam which used to hold about 120 cubic meters of water would now have a capacity of holding over 270 cubic meters thanks to the expansion scheme.
The Administrator of the sub-zone, Mr. Abraham Hagos, pointed out that the renovation of the micro-dam is in line with efforts to ease potable water supply problems in the area. He further lauded the active participation of the local inhabitants in the undertaking.
Halai, one of the administrative areas of Segeneiti sub-zone, is located 16 km east of Digsa.
