Kaduna — Widows and children whose husbands and parents lost their lives in the ethno-religious crisis that ravaged Kaduna in the past years were yesterday presented with gifts worth millions of naira by a Christian organisation, Macedonian Initiatives.
Presenting the gifts on behalf of the organisation, Reverend Ladi Thompson, who is also the pastor in-charge of the Living Water Ministry, Lagos, said the organisation has been paying the school fees of over 30 of the orphans while yearly helping the women with different types of gifts, saying "The love we have for all human beings and the need to ameliorate their situations as best as we can motivates us to come to the aid of people who are in needs. When people ask us what Macedonian initiatives is all about, what I tell them is that it is all about love and serving humanity as enshrined in the Bible and our desire to halt barrier of halting potentials in them".
Rev. Thompson disclosed that the body is proposing to establish a world class secondary and primary school to bring qualitative and standardised education close to the vulnerable and indigent.
Rev Thompson further said "Some of the children that we have been helping are already in some tertiary institutions across the country and that needier people in Kano, Plateau and other states where the organisation is already working and providing aid would continue to receive help and consideration".
Reverend Joseph Hayab, who stood in for the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Kaduna state chapter as its Secretary General, said "We are grateful for your kind gesture of helping our community ,at our own end here we would strive and make land available whenever you are ready".
