Windhoek — The 4th edition of the Victoria Falls International Jazz Festival will take place at the Elephant Hills on December 24 and 25.
Mozambican-born jazz maestro Moreira Chonguica will lead a star line-up of jazz acts that will include local musicians. Musician Filbert Marova will direct the concert.
Rooftop Promotions event coordinator Margaret Chigumira said the Victoria Falls International Jazz Festival will meet its billing.
She said: "This year's edition is going to be exciting and more streamlined than in previous years."
Last year's edition was graced by German-based Max Wild, Ben Michaels from Malawi, Sakala Brothers from Zambia and Zimbabweans Sam Mtukudzi, Pastor G, Amai Siluma, Munya & Poda. Daves Guzha is producing this year's concert.
"While we are having two concerts this festive season, next year we will have more days as we approach the South African football World Cup in 2010. The concerts have proved to be a hit with holidaymakers and those from the surroundings. Each year we try to bill a new set of acts so as to spice the performances," Guzha said.
