Nigeria: Jos Crisis - Northern CAN Calls for Judicial Commission of Enquiry

Northern states and Abuja council of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has reiterated the need for government to set up a judicial commission of enquiry to probe the recurring crisis in Plateau State and bring the perpetrators and sponsors of the crisis to book.

CAN wonders how a political disagreement could lead to killings and arson, adding that six pastors lost their lives to the Jos crisis. The Christian body also expressed its "shock to find out that most of the killings was carried out by 'hired terrorists". It, therefore, urged the Federal Government to unveil the sponsors and patrons of the killings in order to safeguard the security of the nation.
