The Kano State government has donated two additional buses to the state Chapter of Nigeria Labor Congress (NLC) as part of the ongoing efforts to ensure industrial harmony in the state.
The government also promised to support labor unions in the state to secure permanent office accommodation to facilitate their work. State Governor Ibrahim Shekarau made the pledge while receiving leadership of the state branch of NLC in his office. Shekarau also assured that the government was willing to foot the rent bills of recognized labor unions in the state occupying rented offices for at least one to two years to enable them to stabilize their activities. Regarding vehicle loans, he directed the state Head of Service to sort out the issue with the congress, assuring that efforts will be geared toward facilitating more vehicle loans for civil servants to motivate them for higher productivity. Earlier, Acting Chairman of the state NLC Malam Awwalu Mudi Yakasai said workers in the state are happy with the Shekarau - led government for its labor friendliness.
