Luanda — Mali will be the first opponents of the Angolan national team, on February 11, probably in Paris, in the ambit of Angola's preparation for the African Nations Cup (CAN), which Angola is to host in 2010, ANGOP has learnt.
FIFA agent and partner of the Angolan Football Federation (FAF), the Portuguese Lucídio Ribeiro, said there are already advanced talks with Benin, Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoire, Guinea-Conakry and Gabon, for friendly matches, in a total of sixteen.
The choice of France's capital for the game against Mali is due to a strategic matter as the mentioned country is to host a great number of African teams undergoing training programmes in that country.
Two of the preparation games may take place in Angola , with the participation of only home based players, he said, without excluding games against European teams or from other continents.
