Harare — ZANU-PF suspended all pending disciplinary cases and lifted the suspension of all members who allegedly took party in the Tsholotsho declaration, it has been learnt.
The ruling party's national chairman, Cde John Nkomo in his report to the Central Committee revealed that the decision was taken after the realisation that the continued suspension of the members was disturbing unity in the party.
"The National Chairman's office was tasked to set aside all outstanding cases and also lift suspension of all members who had been suspended.
"The decision was taken by the Central Committee in a bid to promote unity and harmony before the 2008 harmonised elections. In this regard, Cdes July Moyo, Jacob Mudenda, Mike Madiro, Themba Ncube and Jabulani Sibanda were permitted to participate in party activities without prejudice," he said.
He said the outstanding cases involving some party members from Masvingo province who were alleged to had campaigned against the official party candidates during the 2005 General Election, were also set aside.
Only Cde Lot Mpofu from Mberengwa was reprimanded for a case that was not disclosed in the report. Zanu-PF suspended a number of party officials in 2005 for four years.
