The free maternal and child healthcare embarked on by Enugu State government has been flagged off at Nkanu East Local Government Area.In his speech on the occasion, the council chairman, Ani Ejikeme, noted that what was happening was as a result of a careful, conscious and deliberate planned partnership between the state and his local government.
He noted that with the availability of free mobile clinic services, his administration is now poised and challenged to ensure that sound health services are delivered to the doorstep of the Nkanu East citizens.
Ani further promised to ensure that maximum use of these facilities through sound sensitization and health education campaign at both wards and community levels. He used the occasion to plead with the Commissioner of Health to ensure the posting of trained health personnel to his council so as to ensure that this programme becomes successful.
High point of the flag-off was the presentation of three delivery kits to a mother of triplet who was at the venue of the flag-off.
