Luanda — The Sao Tomean MP, Aurélio Martins, encouraged Angolan businesspeople to invest in his country, in a moment that Sao Tome and Principe records a political stability, he says.
Speaking to ANGOP at 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, Aurélio Martins, who was leaving for his country, pointed out as an evidence of the political stability, the fact that the State Budget was recently approved by an absolute majority of the parliament, something that
has not happened in the last five years in Sao Tome and Principe.
"It is a good sign, a sign of stability and progress and I believes that this stability can attract foreign investment", the official said.
Angola is considered to be one of the main partners of Sao Tome and Principe, being for some years now that country's main fuel supply, through the state owned Sonangol.
Sao Tome has been investing in tourism for its development, but the recent discovery of oil fields in its water opened new perspectives for the future. Fisheries continues to be one of that country's main economic activities.
