Uganda: Scot to Test Strike Pairs

Kampala — BOBBY Williamson will be in position to establish Cranes' appropriate attacking combination in today's ultimate build-up against a league select side at Nakivubo.

As the countdown to Cranes' opening CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup match against Rwanda gathers pace, Cranes boss Williamson seems still undecided on which attacking pair he will field against resilient opposition in the regional tournament.

The Scot, who will disclose his team hours to Cranes' opening fixture against the Amavubi, is still debating who will start in attack.

Apparently, Caesar Okhuti appears to be Cranes' main forward and what Williamson intends to do is, experiment partnering the Bunamwaya striker with either Emma Okwi, Yuda Mugalu, Brian Umony and Robert Ssentongo.

Williamson intends to stick with the team's 4-4-2 formation, with either two strikers playing side by side (Okhuti and Okwi), or a lone front-man with the other a make-shift forward.

In midfield, the Scott will also be able to decide who among Ronald Muganga and Steven Bengo deserves a starting place on the left side of midfield.

At the back, he will watch how the defensive pairing of Andrew Mwesigwa and Edward Ssali develop given that Joseph Owino is still away with URA FC in the Tusker Cup.

In goal, Yasin Mugabi, Benjamin Ochan and Hamza Muwonge will try to impress for deputizing first choice to Abbey Dhaira before the team breaks off for the Christmas holiday. They resume Saturday.

Meanwhile, beverages producers Crown Beverages have unveiled a sh23m package for the Challenge Cup, reports Norman Katende.

Crown Beverages' promotions manager David Kazoora unveiled the package at the federation head office in Mengo.
