The chairman, Kuje Area Council, Hon. Etsu Zhin, has reiterated his commitment to alleviate poverty as the council embarks on free medical care for residents.
Declaring the programme open, Zhin advised residents to utilised the opportunity to receive treatment since experts were drawn from Paediatric, Medical, Surgical, Gynaecology and eye-related diseases.
The five-day medical treatment which kicked off at Rubochi General Hospital was organised by the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), in collaboration with Kuje area council.
Speaking at the event, the Nigeria Director of Operations, CBN, Rev. John Kalma, said the organisation was motivated by the efforts of the chairman and would contribute his quota in reaching out to the community.
The CBN president in USA, Mr. Path Robinson, represented by the USA Director of Operation, Mr. Scoh Hile was delighted at the team of doctors drawn from Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital and other private health centres for their immense contributions to the healthcare of the residents.
He pledged his organisation's commitment to further render community services, adding that CBN International would assess other critical problems encountered by residents like water scarcity.
He commended the leadership role of Zhin geared towards providing adequate facilities to the residents.
In a related development, the Association of Resident Doctors, University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada, in collaboration with Kuje Area Council earlier provided free medical care to residents at Kuje General Hospital.
It would be recalled that the chairman had on October pledged the sum of one hundred thousand naira monthly donation to the Kuje General Hospital to cater for the need of less privileged patients in the hospital.
