Asmara — Members of the Eritrean Community in Khartoum and its environs held a congress on December 19, during which they reiterated commitment to step up contribution to the development drive in the Homeland.
Lauding the accomplishments so far registered in efforts to ensure economic emancipation, the participants of the congress elected an Executive Committee that would coordinate their activities.
The Eritrean Ambassador to the Sudan, Mr. Issa Ahmed Issa, gave briefings to the participants on the nation's objective political and economic situation, as well as the growing Eritrean-Sudanese relations.
In expression of the growing relations between the two countries, the Administration of Khartoum Zone allotted a plot of land to the Eritrean Community for the construction of a school.
