Tunis — A cabinet meeting held on Tuesday has decided a 100,000 square meter extension of the El Ghazala technological Park in new areas of the Ariana and Manouba governorates. The extension which consists in the building of a new technological park between El Ghazala and Nahli in the governorate of Ariana and another one in the governorate of la Manouba, will provide much needed support to the El Ghazala pole, as well as modernizing the country's digital infrastructure.
The meeting also decided to build and equip an extra 100,000 square meters between the technological parks of Sousse and Sfax.
In a related event, it also took the decision to reduce broadband tariffs by 25%.
Prior to the cabinet meeting, a work session chaired by the Minister of housing and real estate affairs, Mr Slaheddine Maalouche, took place on Monday to finalize the study pertaining to the building of the project, in the presence of senior officials from the Ministry of communication technologies and the Ministry of agriculture and water resources.
set up in 1999 and covering an area of 50 hectares in the governorate of Ariana, the El Ghazala technological park specializes in ICT, and houses several R&D laboratories, operated by major ICT companies. The park ranks as among the 100 best technological parks in the world.
