Harare — THE National Parks and Wildlife Management Authority is upgrading its hospitality facilities countrywide in a move aimed at improving service delivery during the festive season, an official said last week.
Director General Dr Morris Mutsambiwa said renovations at most facilities including those in Victoria Falls were already underway.
"Trends have shown that visitor inflows increase during this period and that has prompted us to renovate our facilities and improve service," he said.
"We are currently servicing all the tourist facilities in all game reserves, with the ones at Victoria Falls at an advanced stage," he added.
Dr Mutsambiwa said they were also looking forward to providing adequate fuel to visitors.
"We are going to make available a fuel facility to ensure that tourists are adequately supplied," he said.
The facility, he said, would enable tourists to buy fuel at a reasonable price.
This comes at a time when the country launched the Kariba @50 celebrations due next year.
Dr Mutsambiwa said they would use the celebrations to market their tourist attraction zones.
