Nigeria: Safe Sex - Who is Responsible?

HI, with the full blast of the reality that the HIV/AIDS virus is not only here with us, but that it is spreading like an uncontrollable wild fire, likely to consume us all if drastic measures are not taken to curb its spread, there has been an increased awareness of the need for safe sex. Hitherto, safe sex was perceived more as measures taken to prevent unwanted pregnancies and contraction of sexually transmitted diseases and not steps taken to ensure good health and well being of the human body.

Today, all hands are on deck to preach the gospel of safe sex. Government at all levels are spending millions of Naira on awareness campaigns, lectures and seminars designed to help citizens take charge of their sex lives and ultimately, social responsibility.
