Eritrea: Development Projects Worth Over 70 Million Nakfa Implemented in Dubarwa Sub-Zone

Dubarwa — A number of projects worth over 70 million Nakfa have been implemented in Dubarwa sub-zone that played significant role in improving the people's standard of living, according to Mr. Tikabo Sium, Administrator of the sub-zone.

He also pointed out that over 14 million Nakfa has been paid in benefit scheme to families of martyrs and that more than 1 million Nakfa has been extended in loan to disabled persons and needy nationals.

Indicating that two micro-dams with a capacity of holding a total of 2.5 million cubic meters of water have been constructed at a cost of 60 million Nakfa, Mr. Tikabo stated that these facilities would make due contribution in promoting irrigation farming in the area. He further explained that potable water supply projects have been implemented in the villages of Adi-Ketekula and Adi-Nahbai, while a well is being dug in Edaga Adhana.

Moreover, the Administrator of the sub-zone said that a 14 km-long new road linking Dembe-Guef with Dembe-Habela was constructed in 2008, besides the renovation of a number of roads through popular campaign.
