Luanda — A year of contrast, in which pain and mourning crossed each other over the death of the musician Alberto Teta Lando - a renowned singer of the Angolan popular music, and the emotion for winning the National Culture and Arts Prize, by one of the most complete representatives of "semba" music genre, Paulo Flores.
This is how the year 2008 is summarised, a period in which the national CD market recorded the most expressive figures of the Angolan editorial history of the past six years.
Over 80 albums released (including some re-editions), an average of 6,6 CDs per month and 1,6 CD per a week, the ongoing year was profitable in terms of production, edition and release of albums, most of these CDs were funded by the LS Produções firm.
In short, Angola showed in 2008 that it has artists with technical value and maturity to enliven this demanding public.
