Somalia: MP Dies in Kenya

One of the Somali transitional MPs known as Ali Osman Jiidow has died after he has been complaining about illness in a hospital in the Kenyan capital Nairobi last night. The deputy speaker of the parliament Prof. Mohamed Omar Dalha told Shabelle On Friday.

The first deputy speaker of the Somali parliament professor Mohamed Omar Dalha has confirmed the death of the MP Ali Osman Jiidow and said that he has held more posts for the transitional government by the time he was a live as the deputy chairman of financial ministry but he has been sick and taken to Nairobi for health grounds and he lately died in a hospital in Nairobi yesterday afternoon.

"The legislator was very active person and we were colleague. MP Ali Osman Jiidow has been working with the Somali parliament since two years but got ill recently and died in Kenya for sake of more operations that he was made. May Allah rest his spirit into the paradise," the professor said.

The deputy of the speaker has said that the legislator was one of the Somali parliamentarians based in Biadoa town which is the seat of the interim government and he died yesterday afternoon in a hospital in Nairobi after he was very sick recently.

It is not the first time that members of the Somali parliamentarians die for different reasons inside and outside the country.
