Uganda: Christmas Abortion - Doctor Held

Kampala — Police are holding a doctor working with Kansanga life care Health clinic, Guy Kintu for abeting abortion.

The Kabalagala District Police Commander, Dorothy Awori says the doctor was held after a seventeen year old girl Shamim Nalumansi was found bleeding heavily.

Awor says Nalumansi told her relatives that she had carried out an abortion. Abortion is a crime according to section 143 of the penal code.

Awor advises young girls not to risk their lives with abortion.
