Kampala — KIRINYA Prison inmates had cause to smile during Christmas, when Christians of Evangelical Church gave them a bull and assorted items for Christmas.
The inmates were given a bull to slaughter, 50kg of rice, sugar, spices and a box of bar soap.
Preaching to the inmates during the handover ceremony, on Christmas eve, Pastor Zachariah said it was the duty of Christians to cater for the needy members of the body of Christ.
"Not every suspect in Kirinya Prison is guilty since our Constitution says every body is innocent, until the courts of law prove him guilty", Zachariah said.
He said, many inmates leave prison as changed people and hundreds have given their lives to Jesus Christ as their personal saviour.
This was the second consecutive year, Evangelical Church Christians, were donating assorted items to Kirinya's inmates.
Last year on top of food donations, the Christians donated a 24-inch TV screen, fully connected to GTV.
Over 10 inmates, gave their lives to Jesus Christ at the hand over ceremony, which was characterised by worship and praise led by Pastor Zabron Matabi.
