Abuja — The Benue State commandant of the Peace Corps of Nigeria has commended the exemplary leadership role of the Benue State governor, Gabriel Suswam for the fatherly manner in which he has encouraged youths in the state.

Speaking with LEADERSHIP WEEKEND, Captain Amanyi stated that he was "impressed with the way the Benue helmsman and his team have transformed the state since assuming stewardship."

Said he: "The youth in the state have enjoyed so much goodwill from the amiable governor, who put smiles on their faces by providing them succour."

Governor Suswam has been quoted as referring to the youths in the state as the bridge between today and tomorrow.

It is in line with this that Amanyi called on the governor to encourage youth bodies in the state, especially the Peace Corps of Nigeria whose cardinal focus is preparing the youths for their future leadership roles via the art of nation building.

The Peace Corps boss, however, assured that, "Our officers and members in the state will continue to remain law abiding citizens and grateful to the number one citizen in the state who has continued to support the corps."
