Nigeria: Position for Good Business in 2009

Ola Emmanuel

29 December 2008

On December 30, 2007, the article I wrote that prepared readers for 2008 was titled, 'It Is Up To You'. In the piece, I wrote about why everyone must wake up the real man in himself or herself.

I mentioned, among several other things, in the piece that year 2008 was by the corner and, as usual, would be filled with heart-gladdening prospects. The simple fact is: a languid mind may not partake of goodies the prospects will bestow on those who are ready. Invest in your mind; take root down so that you can shoot up marvellously. Notwithstanding that the year 2008 was (or still is) with a mixed bag, especially turning up the bad side for investors in stocks. But there were several opportunities as rightly predicted. New businesses came up; new wealth creation opportunities brought smiles on the faces of many as the endeavours enabled them make money. That is the power of strategic positioning!

Irrespective of how a year turns out, some will become happier and some may end it on the wrong side. The fact remains that there will always be opportunities for wealth creation, especially in a huge economy (market) like Nigeria.

Nigeria is a huge market, no doubt. That the Nigerian market is one that manufacturers all over the world would love to possess for their products is a known fact. It is the largest in Africa (all black nations of the world inclusive). Anyone who has come to this realisation knows he ought to strategically position himself to enjoy the huge market. But very few Nigerians have realised this. If strangers are seeing opportunities that abound in Nigeria and they are seizing it, it can be a great aberration if majority of the people that own the market can hardly do anything in it. Already, not quite a few producers are already strategising on how to cash in and position themselves for the 2009 wealth creation activities by planning strongly to reach different classes of Nigerian consumers.

During the regime of President Bill Clinton, Americans (and by extension, the entire world) enjoyed great deal of wealth creation through Information and Communication Technology (ICT) business. Nigerians have since seen what potentials this sector possesses and are trying to seize it. The potential of ICT to make a big difference in the lives of people by giving them great wealth is a fact that is known to the people of the developed economies. With development and innovation taking place on equal footing and knowledge becoming the most important factor in determining the quality of living of a people, the richest men today are those that are playing the knowledge (ICT) card.

Become An 'Infopreneur': Nigerians are just embracing the ICT. The market has several segments; the players are still few, the wealth creation opportunities are extremely vast. In 2009, ICT is going to make a distinction in the lives of people in Nigeria. It is only those who position themselves that will partake of this. Why? That is because more and more Nigerians are embracing the ICT. This fact is supported by the secretary-general of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Dr. Hamadoun TourÈ, when he described this country as a better example of a developing nation using ICT for wealth creation. Therefore, to prepare for the opportunities in 2009, I am pointing to you this great wealth creation opportunity so that you can say no to poverty with ease. It is an ICT business that requires no big money to start and which is returning good fortunes to those who are doing it (log onto 'www.oakservers.net'). What is required is a bit of ability to reach out to people (and organisations). This ICT wealth-creating business is called the 'Website Solutions Reseller Plan'.

In the present jet age, it is becoming pretty difficult to do business if you don't have a web presence. A requisite for good business is a website. Clients want to do less talking but want to go on the internet to view your website to learn more about your business activities, what structure you have in place and what strength you possess. With many companies and high networth individuals in Nigeria not yet on the cyber space, those who are skilled in marketing are making good money talking people to be on the net. To do this Reseller Plan business, you will be given a website of your own through which your potential customers (clients) get to know, relate and patronise you. With your website designed for you free of charge, this initiative enables you perform by leveraging high-on-demand, web-based online products and also gives you the status of web hosting entrepreneur. The reseller plan gives increasing earnings (as a result of your ability to reach out). To fully understand this great wealth creation opportunity, you can go and learn more about it by logging on to 'www.oakservers.net'. You will understand better what I am trying to pass across to you. I have scrutinised this web-based business and I stick out my neck for it.

Get Financially Empowered By Setting Your Goal:

In the life of every entity, goal-setting is very important. An organisation will want to know what the coming year will look like by doing a budget about new businesses or products to launch and what expenses that may come up. Likewise, you too must have a goal about what your achievement should look like.

Till next week, enjoy my pen and stay financially fit.
