South Africa: Sangweni Ties the Knot

29 December 2008

Golden Arrows defender Siyabonga Sangweni scored one of the most important goals of his life over the festive season when he married Princess Mmolawa in a white wedding held at Zeerust in the North-West Province over the past weekend.

The festivities were attended by a number of PSL players, including Arrows teammate Kagisho Dikgacoi and Orlando Pirates midfielder Mlungisi Gumbi. The second session of traditional wedding between Sangweni and his new wife is set to continue at Empangeni this coming weekend.

Speaking to Kickoff.com after the wedding, Sangweni said he was happy to finally tie the knot, having been with Princess for the past two years.

"This is what I have been dreaming of," he says. "She has been wonderful and I could not miss this opportunity of making her my wife. This is also shows that I am grown up now and that I need to take responsibility of being a good father and a great husband."

The couple are expecting a baby in the new year.
