Kickoff (Cape Town)
29 December 2008
December is a time of giving, be it a present or in kind. With that in mind, SuperSport United midfielder Dennis Masina joined other Swazi youth to weed the King's fields over the weekend.
It is time for Incwala in Swaziland, where local players link up with the people in join the King in prayer and then weeding the Mfabanthu fields.
Speaking to Kick Off.com, Masina says it was good to be part of the country's culture. "You learn to appreciate your culture by being part of the activities that take place in your country," he says.
Masina, who has not seen much action this season for SuperSport, was scheduled to return to the team to begin training later today. It is a blessing for a Swazi youth to take part in the weeding of the fields and Masina is hoping that things will start working for him at Matsatsantsa now.
