Kickoff (Cape Town)
29 December 2008
Former youth international Seuntjie Motlhajwa has parted ways with First Division side Hanover Park - just five months after joining following a lengthy spell in the wilderness.
Motlhajwa has already been handed his clearance by club boss Rieduwaan Anthony, whose management style, according to the midfielder, is said to be driving players out of the club.
"There is no way I will ever return to that club," the 29-year-old says. "The way the team is run leaves a lot to be desired. Trust me I won't be the only player leaving the club; there are many others on their way out. That team is a problem and I felt it was better that I take myself away from such troubles.
"It pains that as a professional player you wait the whole month for your pay and then not be paid all the money you expect. Maybe the club boss knows why things are being done that way, but I'm glad I'm no longer part of the club. I have my clearance."
KICK OFF tried to get Anthony's side of the story, but none of our calls were answered.
Prior to joining Hanover Park, Motlhajwa had spent a lengthy spell training under Farouk Khan at the Stars of Africa Academy in Johannesburg. He has also played for SuperSport United, Jomo Cosmos and Ajax Cape Town.
KICK OFF has learnt that a Johannesburg-based PSL club is planning to invite the creative midfielder for a trial run when they resume training.
